It’s a perfect, sparkling, turquoise morning on St. Croix, that jewel of an island in the Caribbean. The palms are swaying and the rum is running sweet. But the taste in resort services director Nola Stewart’s mouth is distinctly sour. Two new guests – the first, quiet, intriguing, the other, loud and obnoxious – have just checked in. Together they’re turning the beach, the pool and the weekly Pirate’s Feast into a four-alarm food fiasco. Then, as one of them turns the heat at the annual KweeZeenArtZ chef competition up to a high rolling boil it would seem that murder is on the menu.

Short the bucks it would take to join a real car rally, these not-ready-for-prime-time car jocks have concocted their own motorsports extravaganza. But as the revs build, valuable items begin to disappear. Do the fast fingers belong to the disgraced Formula 1 driver? The bleach blonde? Or maybe the meddling mother-in-law? In the summer of 2017 two intrepid expat Canadians set out to fulfill a lifelong dream of driving their home and native land from coast-to-coast. Starting at the eastern-most point of North America, they dropped the top on the aging convertible and headed west in search of Canadian experience, identity, culture, landscape, music and moose, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Three weeks, ten provinces and 7,800 kilometers later they pulled up to the (ironically labeled and mysteriously duplicated) Mile Zero in Victoria, British Columbia. Rumble Strip Canada 150 is the story of this eye-opening, life-affirming, joyous, and sometimes silly adventure.
